Integrated Clinical Pathways: Communication and Participation in a Multidisciplinary Team

BACKGROUND: An integrated clinical pathway (ICP) is a key method for structuring or planning processes of care, enabling the modernization health-care delivery and coordination multiple roles, forming complete, patient-centered multidisciplinary team establishing sequence activities, promoting individual communication, collaboration, networking, transparency, reducing cost care. AIM: As there research gap in area communication among members treatment patients through an ICP, aim this study was to determine impact member on active participation team. METHODS: A cross-sectional three ICPs, forchronic kidney disease, stroke, total hip arthroplasty conducted typical Slovenian general hospital. RESULTS: The results show that analyzed hospital, two pathways are not yet fully integrated. CONCLUSION: There weak influence staff within individual’s team, indicating need various activities actually implement “integration,” promote better teams strengthen patient care pathways.
